Accessibility
Statement

The Cobb Association of REALTORS® is committed to making our website accessible to everyone. We believe that digital accessibility is an ongoing responsibility and are actively working to ensure our site meets recognized accessibility standards.

Section 1

Our Commitment

The Cobb Association of REALTORS® is committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to all users, including individuals with visual, auditory, motor, or cognitive disabilities. We view digital accessibility not as a compliance checkbox but as an extension of our core value of inclusion — the same commitment we bring to fair housing and equal opportunity in real estate.

We are continually working to evaluate and improve the accessibility of our website and digital communications. Our goal is to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, which represent the broadly accepted standard for web accessibility.

Section 2

Standards We Target

WCAG 2.1 is organized around four core principles, often referred to as POUR:

Perceivable

Information and interface components must be presented in ways that users can perceive — including those who rely on screen readers or cannot distinguish certain colors.

Operable

Interface components and navigation must be usable by keyboard alone and must not require interactions that users cannot perform.

Understandable

Content and operation of the interface must be clear and predictable, with error prevention and helpful guidance where input is required.

Robust

Content must be robust enough to be reliably interpreted by a wide variety of user agents, including current and future assistive technologies.

Section 3

Measures We Take

To support accessibility across our website and digital content, we:

  • Use semantic HTML structure so screen readers and assistive technologies can navigate content logically.
  • Provide meaningful alternative text for images and non-text content.
  • Maintain sufficient color contrast between text and background elements to support users with low vision or color blindness.
  • Design forms with clearly associated labels and helpful error messages.
  • Ensure interactive elements — including buttons, links, and menus — are keyboard-navigable and have visible focus indicators.
  • Avoid content that flashes more than three times per second, which can trigger seizures in some users.
  • Write in plain, clear language to support comprehension across a range of reading abilities.
  • Review new content and features for accessibility considerations as part of our publishing process.
Section 4

Known Limitations

While we strive for full WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance, some areas of our site may not yet fully meet this standard. Known areas we are actively working to improve include:

  • Older PDF documents — Some legacy documents in our resource library may not be fully tagged for screen reader compatibility. We are reviewing and remediating these on an ongoing basis.
  • Embedded third-party tools — Event registration platforms, member portal features, and other embedded tools are subject to the accessibility practices of their respective vendors. We work to select vendors who prioritize accessibility.
  • Video content — Older video recordings may lack closed captions. New video content is captioned, and we are working to add captions to existing archives where possible.

We are committed to addressing these limitations over time and welcome feedback that helps us identify issues we may have missed.

Section 5

Third-Party Content

Our website links to and embeds content from third-party platforms including the National Association of REALTORS®, Georgia REALTORS®, event registration services, and social media channels. These platforms maintain their own accessibility policies and are not under our direct control.

We encourage third-party vendors we work with to prioritize accessibility and will consider accessibility as a factor when selecting or renewing service relationships.

Feedback & Assistance

We welcome your feedback. If you encounter an accessibility barrier on our website, experience difficulty accessing any content, or have a suggestion for improvement, please let us know. Member feedback is one of the most effective ways we can identify and resolve issues.

When reaching out, please include:
  • A description of the accessibility barrier you encountered.
  • The specific page or feature where the issue occurred (the URL is helpful).
  • The assistive technology or browser you were using, if applicable.
  • Your preferred method of contact for our response.

If you need information in an alternative format — such as large print or a plain-text version of a document — please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate your request in a timely manner.

We aim to respond to accessibility feedback within two business days.
