Ethics Training

Current Cycle | January 1, 2025 – December 31, 2027

REALTOR® members must complete 2.5 hours of ethics training within each three-year cycle to maintain membership with the National Association of REALTORS®. The deadline for the current cycle is December 31, 2027.

The Requirement

Existing REALTOR® members must complete 2.5 hours of ethics training meeting specific learning objectives and criteria within each three-year cycle in order to maintain REALTOR® membership with the National Association of REALTORS®.

REALTORS® who joined on or after January 1, 2025, and successfully completed New Member Code of Ethics training have already satisfied this requirement for the current cycle.

Only REALTORS® are held to the NAR Code of Ethics — ensuring buyers and sellers who hire a REALTOR® can be confident they are working with a professional committed to the highest ethical standards in the industry.

C2EX Commitment to Excellence

Commitment to Excellence (C2EX) from the National Association of REALTORS® empowers REALTORS® to showcase their highest levels of professionalism. It’s an endorsement — not a course or designation — and completing it satisfies the COE training requirement. Members without a NAR Designation or Certification must earn one to complete C2EX, which may involve fees.

NAR REALTOR® Ethics Training Course

This NAR-developed online course allows you to stop and restart within a 30-day window. Completion is recorded in the National REALTORS® M1 System. To register, you will need your M1 (previously NRDS) number assigned when you applied for membership.

CE credit is only given for paid COE courses. If you want CE credit hours, you must take a paid course.
