For more than 50 years, the REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC) has been a driving force behind electing leaders who support REALTORS® and private property rights nationwide. Funded entirely through voluntary REALTOR® contributions, RPAC ensures our industry has a strong voice at every level of government. These investments — separate from member dues — are essential to protecting, promoting, and advancing the real estate profession.
Decisions made by government at every level influence how REALTORS® work, serve clients, and succeed. By investing in RPAC, REALTORS® take an active role in shaping those decisions rather than reacting to them. RPAC is how our industry stays engaged, informed, and represented.
Government decisions at the local, state, and national levels directly impact the real estate industry and the ability of REALTORS® to do business. Cobb REALTORS® choose to be engaged in the political process rather than react to it. Through RPAC, our members maintain a seat at the table and a strong voice in the policies that affect real estate and private property rights in Cobb County and beyond.
No. Your RPAC investment is not deductible on your federal or state income tax returns.
RPAC investments create real, measurable returns for REALTORS® across Georgia and the nation. Here are some examples:
- Fighting for increased conforming loan limits and lower down payments for FHA loans, as well as the creation of a National Housing Trust Fund
- Preventing cities and counties in Georgia from charging individual real estate agents a business license fee
- Prohibiting local governments from charging property managers a rental registration fee
- Ending a moratorium on development on the BeltLine and defeating moratoria legislation in other jurisdictions
- Defeating a proposal that would have imposed civil and criminal liability on real estate agents if clients failed to retrofit plumbing fixtures prior to closing
- Keeping national banks out of the real estate brokerage and property management business
- Defeating a 100 percent increase in real estate transfer tax
